Why Should I Care About Child Abuse

1 in 10 children will be sexually abused by the time they are 18 years old. Statistics indicate the number of children who are abused before their 18th birthday in Chautauqua County would fill 41 school buses. However, 7/8th of these cases go unreported.
From volunteers to educators to donors, being an active participant in the mission to end childhood sexual abuse is one of the most rewarding things you will ever do. If child sexual abuse can be prevented, it can be stopped.

Through awareness, education and prevention, children are empowered and adults are enlightened. With help from our friends at Darkness 2 Light, we intend to confront child abuse with courage in our communities.

If you suspect a child is being abused or maltreated please call: NYS Child Abuse Hotline 800-342-3720

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local police department
