September 30 was a rainy day, but it didn’t dampen the mood of the participants and volunteers at the Child Advocacy Program’s fourth annual Step Up for Kids 5K Run/Walk. This event is held yearly to raise awareness about CAP’s mission to end child abuse in Chautauqua County. The run raises funds for CAP’s services such as trauma counseling, advocacy, medical exams, and forensic interviews.
There were 54 participants in the race unified under one cause: stopping child abuse. The first place runner was Brooke Adams from Randolph, NY and the second place runner was Mark Desaulniers from Lily Dale, NY.
CAP would like to thank all the runners, walkers, volunteers, and sponsors. Thank you to the Village of Cassadaga for making the run a safe and enjoyable event. It is because of a strong community of supporters that CAP can carry out our mission.
